DESCRIPTION OF WATER CONSUMPTION AND HYDRATION STATUS BASED ON URINE COLOUR INDICATORS IN SANTRIWAN/TI MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH MAMBA'ULULUM JAMBI CITY

Abstract

Growth and development occur rapidly during adolescence, so activity also increases. Adequate water consumption is needed to keep the body fit. In the initial survey there were 9 out of 10 respondents lacking in consuming water, the average intake was 1,271.25 ml. Lack of water consumption risks dehydration. The number of hydration status in santriwan/ti during the initial survey with urine colour indicators, namely 8 out of 10 respondents were dehydrated. This study aims to determine the description of water consumption and hydration status based on urine colour indicators in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Mamba'ul Ulum Jambi City. Data collection was conducted in June 2024 at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Mamba'ul Ulum Jambi City. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive research design. The sample was selected using the Simple Random Sampling technique with a sample size of 84 santriwan/ti. Data collection by filling out questionnaires and collecting urine data. Data analysis with univariate with frequency test to see the research picture. The results showed a picture of water consumption 69 (82.1%) respondents were still lacking and as many as 71 (84.5%) respondents had dehydration status. It was concluded that the respondents' water consumption was still lacking and the majority had dehydration status. It is recommended for santriwan/ti to increase drinking water consumption to avoid dehydration, because dehydration has a risk that is not good for health and learning focus.
