Abstract

One of the nutritional problems often experienced by adolescent girls is anemia. Anemia is a condition when the body lacks erythrocytes. One of the government's efforts to overcome the problem of anemia in adolescent girls is by giving blood-added tablets to adolescent girls. Adherence of adolescent girls to take blood-added tablets is expected to reduce the incidence of adolescent anemia. This study aimed to determine blood-added tablets adherence in adolescent girls. The method used in this study is quantitative research with a Cross sectional research design which is used to see factors that affect compliance based on Rogers' theory of behavior change, namely awareness, interest, evaluation, trial, and adoption. The sample in this study was adolescent girls in MAN 1 Medan as many as 140 samples. The results of the study found that as many as 74.3% of adolescent girls are not obedient in taking blood-added tablets regularly. Factors that affect adherence to blood-added tablets consumption in adolescent girls are interest (p value 0.001), evaluation (p value 0.003), and adoption (p value <0.00) while awareness (p value 0.112) and trials (p value 0.314) do not affect adherence of adolescent girls in taking TTD.
